What Would You Do Wednesday Wicker Headboard
A T2T reader named Barb asks, "I snatched this wicker headboard from a trash pile...other than the obvious, does anyone have an idea what wonderfully clever thing I could do with this?"
What do you think? For WWYD Wednesday, let's address Barb's question.
Could you mount it behind a dresser as a display for photos (maybe hang photos on ribbons from various places on the piece). Also makes me think of the middle section of a screen if you could perhaps attach a couple short shutters on either side so it can stand. Or if you had a very large, high wall, could you mount a rod at the bottom between the sides coming down to make a place to hang a quilt? Or how about attaching the whole thing to an outside wall (if you weatherize and have a side of a garage or a large wall on a porch to embellish). Then mount a shelf at the bottom on which to put potted plants. Or build a flower box in the space below and plant liberally with colorful blooms. How about mounting pegboard behind and attach to an outdoor table as a potting station. Hang gardening tools on the pegboard showing in the openings of the headboard.
ReplyDeleteOne more idea. If you could make a small tray in front and attach a back easel stand you would have a very striking decorative easel on which to display artwork, weekly menu or just fun sayings.
ReplyDeleteI love the benches made from headboards. I don't know how you would do it from wicker and without a foot board but I think it would make a lovely bench.
ReplyDeleteHow about using it as a gate to your garden? Or as a trellis? I think it just screams: find someplace outside to put me!!
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas so far! Keep them coming. :-)

Hi Michelle! It's Katy Stevens here. So funny. I was doing a google image search for wicker headboards (I also found one for free and looking for ideas on how to turn it into a treasure) and your face was one of the google images! So to add to the ideas here, I would for sure spray paint it a fun color! I loved someone's idea to mount it behind a dresser!
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle!
ReplyDeleteLook what I found!
